A two-day job fair opened yesterday at the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) in Mishref. Dr. Adbulrahman Al-Muhailan, GUST President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees inaugurated the event along with its organizer Dr Osama Al-Hares, Director Center of Career Services Alumni. “This is the fifth time we have been organizing such an event.
The aim is to help our students find suitable employment immediately after completing education. We are happy that with the job fair, we could easily place our students with some of the top companies in Kuwait,” Al-Hares pointed out. The job fair also provides GUST alumni with the prospect of new job placements and for current students will be provided with part-time job while completing studies.
This is really a good opportunity for everyone to find a job in some of the major private companies in Kuwait. GUST recorded 85 percent employment rate among graduates which means that we mainly help 15 percent of our graduates get suitable jobs to advance their career,” he added.
Over 40 companies from different sectors will be represented from banks, finance, television, advertising, oil and gas. The job fair scheduled to last until today is being sponsored by the National Bank of Kuwait(NBK) and the Gulf Bank. Al-Hares noted that participating companies are rising every year since they started job fair in 2004. “I am happy to see most of the companies here are represented with our own alumni. You can see our graduates everywhere helping the nation’s economic growth.” Al-Muhailan
reiterated university’s mission to arm young people with excellent knowledge for Kuwait’s future generation.
