Estimator (Construction)

Graduate of Civil Engineering/Architecture; should have 5 years experience and technical knowledge of/a background in preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of full cost estimates on conceptual, design-build or general tender work as well as working with a Site Manager and Planning Engineer to help predict the timescales of a project, which has a considerable bearing on costs.

A Major Regional Engineering and Construction Company urgently looking for the following positions:

ESTIMATOR (Electrical):

  • Degree from a reputable University
  • Minimum 10 years experience as Estimator in Electrical Construction.
  • Familiar with both commercial and industrial large volume projects.
  • Design/assist experience is desirable.
  • Experience with complete take off of electrical drawings.
  • Able to understand architectural, structural, mechanical and related drawings.
  • Ability to work on and complete as estimate without guidance.
  • Ability to calculate loads in accordance with N.E.C. is a big plus.
  • Ability to multi-task, and work on multiple estimates at the same time.
  • Experience with estimation software would be a plus.
  • Conceptual Estimating
  • Design Build, Design Assist, and Value Engineering
  • Experience with BIM Interface is a plus.
  • Assembler final estimate packages, conduct detailed analysis of estimates including benchmarking against
  • similar projects and reconciliation of estimate to prior estimates.
  • Excellent general computer skills (Excel, MS Project, Work, Outlook)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

QUANTITY SURVEYOR (Electrical):

  • Quantity take offs preparation of BOQs from drawings and specifications with substantial experience in Electrical  Mechanical works.
  • Preparing item rate base cost/rate analysis for tenders, additional works and claims in accordance with the bills of quantities and related drawings.
  • Undertake cost analysis for all works including Civil, ME and repair maintenance.
  • Calculating, analyzing costs of commercial risks within the given parameters.
  • Preparing contract/ subcontract progress billing for collection/ payment.
  • Assistance in cost control analysis.
  • Any other relevant assignment deemed necessary or required by the Manager.
