Founded in 1980 as an umbrella organisation to manage the State of Kuwait's rapidly diversifying oil interests, KPC has in less than two decades established itself as a truly international entity, respected by governments and business institutions worldwide as the ambassador of Kuwait's business industry. Today the KPC Group encompasses the following companies:

Kuwait Oil Company (KOC)
Manages the exploration and the production of oil and gas inside Kuwait.
Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC)
Responsible for refining, liquified gas operations and the marketing of petroleum products within Kuwait.
Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC)
Responsible for producing and marketing fertilizers and petrochemicals.
Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC)
Manages the transport operations of crude oil, petroleum products and liquified gases.
The Kuwait Aviation Fuelling Company (KAFCO)
Responsible for supplying aeroplanes with fuel at Kuwait International Airport.
The International Marketing Department of KPC
Controls the marketing and sales of crude oil petroleum products and liquified petroleum gases (KPG) outside Kuwait.
In pursuit of its objectives of diversification and flexibility, KPC expanded its foreign operations to include:

Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC)
Responsible for overseas oil and gas exploration and exploitation.
Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI)
Runs the downstream acquisitions in Europe that have effectively made KPC a fully integrated operation from well-head to petrol pump.
